Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery has threatened to sue Cord leader Raila Odinga for likening him to ‘a confused dog and a house fly’.
Nkaissery on Saturday told the opposition leader to apologize to him or face a lawsuit.
“Enough is enough. I have restrained myself for a long time from responding to Raila’s personalized attack on my person,” Nkaissery said in Maparasha Kajiado county.
He claimed Raila had previously referred to him as a “confused dog, a housefly and useless” during public pronouncements.
The ODM leader while in Sajiloni area of Kajiado county on July 16 during a function attended by the local MP, KanchoriMemusi, equated Nkaissery to a housefly.
“Nkaissery is nothing better than a fly that drops into a cup of milk and fails to swim out,” Raila said.
Raila is also reported to have claimed the CS was like a dog that was fooled by the reflection of a bone in water and gave up what it had.
Raila has been demanding the resignation of the CS over the rising cases of extra-judicial killings.
Nkaissery said he would not step aside unless requested to do so by his appointing authority, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“I cannot resign because somebody just wants me to resign; I will remain in office until the person who gave me the job tells me to resign,” he said.
