At an interview with the Standard newspaper, Kalonzo Musyoka has said that he will not be supporting Raila if he sees that the latter is going to lose like in 2013.
If Raila does not top the opinion polls results prior to the elections, Kalonzo might find an alternative.
This means that if Raila is elected the party’s flag-bearer, he will have the task of beating the incumbent, Uhuru Kenyatta at the opinion polls if Musyoka is to back him.
The wiper leader also observed that in the event that he was not nominated as the flag-bearer, he was willing to support either Raila or Wetangula in their presidential bids- he however maintained that he hoped to get the top seat.
“I hope they can support my candidature this time round. This is the time for this country to try a strong Kalonzo candidature,” Kalonzo told Standard
Musyoka was very particular in stating that the CORD coalition would settle for the best suited candidate as their flag-bearer in 2017 based on their likelihood to win.
At the same sitting, Musyoka also revealed that CORD had not sat down with Musalia Mudavadi to discuss the possibility of the latter joining CORD to form an alliance.
If elected president, Muyoska says that he would deal with corruption mercilessly by having zero tolerance towards corrupt leaders.
