Monday, November 21, 2016 – The supposedly kidnapped daughter of Machakos Deputy Governor, Bernard Kiala, was eventually found but she may have lied to her dad.
Kathleen Nduku, who was kidnapped last week, was found in Nairobi’s Sunton area unhurt by police officers who tracked her to a house where she was found alone before taking her for interrogation.
The officers who found her said they were investigating to establish whether Nduku was kidnapped for political reasons.
“She is under interrogation to know if indeed she was kidnapped as claimed,” said the Nicholas Kamwende, the Nairobi DCI.
The police boss noted that preliminary investigations did not point to a case of kidnapping but they are still digging for some more.
“May be she was resting at a friend’s house but we are still investigating,” he said.
It was alleged that Kiala’s daughter had been kidnapped by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua’s goons and demands made for Kiala to drop his ambitions for the Governorship.
Other sources also intimated that Nduku was not kidnapped but eloped with her boyfriend.
The elders in Machakos had given the alleged kidnappers and ultimatum to release the lady or be ready to be bewitched.
In the meantime, Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has threatened to sue Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka for calling him a “kidnapper and a killer”. Speaking during his one-week campaign trail to popularise his Maendeleo Chap Chap party in Kitui County, Dr Mutua said the remarks had tainted his reputation.
“I will definitely sue him for calling me a killer. I cannot tolerate a leader of his stature casting aspersions on my behaviour and calling me a kidnapper and a killer. These are unfortunate utterances,” he said.
Last week, the former Vice President claimed Mutua was responsible for the disappearance of Machakos Deputy Governor Benard Kiala’s daughter, Kathleen Nduku who appears to have had eloped with her boyfriend.
