There was drama in Mumias after Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali engaged in a physical fight.
The Friday, November 25 incident broke after alleged supporters of Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali smashed the windscreen of the vehicle that was carrying CORD leader Raila and Wyclife Oparanya.
The opposition leader was forced to flee from the area after the youth blocked Raila from addressing a meeting.
Washiali blamed the governor for failing to focus on the sugar industry in the region, one of the main economic activities in the region.
The Mumias East MP pushed Oparanya during the altercation when several supporters separated the two.
Raila started his western tour a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta presided over the first graduation ceremony at Kibabii University in Bungoma county.
