It is at this county where the former Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Anne Waiguru is expected to square it out with Narc Kenya’s Martha Karua for the gubernatorial seat.

While Waiguru is said to have received blessings from the elders in the region, a faction of people from the county didn’t seem to support her- especially with her involvement in the NYS scandal and the eventual loss of KSh 791 million.

Waiguru resigned citing that she was taking lighter duties on account of her failing health. Her resignation came amid public outcry following the loss of NYS monies.

Residents of the county where she is vying for the gubernatorial seat chanted ‘Mwizi Mwizi’ as Uhuru and his deputy shook hands with her on their visit.

At the same sitting, Karua was called to join the Jubilee faction ahead of the 2017 election. She defiantly declined the offer and flashed her two-finger party sign.

She previously threw her weight behind Uhuru saying that she believed that Uhuru had the good of Kenyans at heart.

On his tour, president Uhuru did not endorse anyone for the gubernatorial seat.
