Friday, 30 December 2016 – A foreign businessman who is based in Mombasa is in trouble for cruising in the Indian Ocean with his Jeep that turns into a boat.
Detectives from Kenya Maritime Authorities are looking for the tycoon for operating the luxury jeep in a public beach without a license.
The Jeep weighs 1.5 tonnes and is equipped with a 3.6 Litre engine, enabling it to cruise at 40 .iles an hour in water.
The owner of the Jeep that turns into a boat when in water is said to be a prominent individual who has connections in the political circles.
“The foreigner is so influential, rude and uses identities of some Mombasa prominent people in making his ends better.”
“The car has no documentation for sailing,” An official from Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) said.
“That’s endangering human and marine life.”
“We have never given licence to any sailing car in Kenya”. He added.
