Saturday January 21, 2017 – President Uhuru Kenyatta held a live interview on Friday with Kameme FM, a vernacular station that has a cult following across the Mt Kenya region.
Uhuru, who was speaking in fluent Kikuyu, shared a number of issues with his Mt Kenya brothers where he urged them to register in large numbers as voters.
“There is a lot of importance in this election, I am in the race and I am looking for votes.”
“Kenyans should also remember that voting is not just about the President.”
“Every Kenyan will vote for six leaders and all of them affect their lives,” said Uhuru.
The father of the nation also told Kenyans that MCAs are now key to development because they are managing a lot of money meant for development.
“We gave close to 177 billion to the 47 Counties.”
“This money is managed by MCAs for development, and that is why you as a voter must ensure you elect someone who will manage your money well,” he said.
“Whether you in Nakuru, Kiambu, Murang’a, Laikipia or Nyeri you must ensure you have not just voted for Uhuru but your future.”
“Ensure your County money will be spent well,” he added.
