Wiper members yesterday said they will move to court on Monday to block Parliament from conducting elections for EALA members.

The elections are slated for May 23. Among them is  Zeth Omollo and Temi Mutia who accused Wiper of rigging in party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s son Kennedy, despite having performed poorly during the vetting. They argue that the party vetting process was marred with serious “opacity and flaws.”

“For instance, the chair of the NEC vetting panel, Farah Maalim, was not furnished with copies of Kennedy’s curriculum vitae by the secretariat although the CV was a mandatory requirement in the application,” they said.

The two also accuse Wiper NEC of violating EALA nomination rules by submitting only one name to Parliament, instead of three. Kalonzo Musyoka has engaged in wide ranging scheme to promote his family in a clear case of nepotism which many wiper members oppose. If not checked, he is going to interfere with running of the country once Raila Odinga becomes president and he must be stopped on his tracks before things get out of hand.
