Friday January 29, 2016 –There is a storm in Kericho after the death of Mr. Alexander Too, who hanged himself just after endorsing the Jubilee candidate for the upcoming Kericho Senatorial by-election, Aaron Cheruiyot.

The 55 year old mason hanged himself last Thursday and left a suicide note endorsing the 29-year old, Aaron Cheruiyot, for the Senate seat.

The suicide note was read out during his funeral service on Tuesday. The note allegedly asked residents of Kericho County to vote for Jubilee’s Aaron Cheruiyot and asked older politicians like Paul Sang of KANU to stay at home and let the younger generation take over.

The incident has sparked a debate with some residents reading mischief in the whole thing.

Pessimists argue that Mr. Too, who was suffering from a skin condition, may have been sacrificed by Uhuru/ Ruto’s Jubilee for Cheruiyot to win the seat by hook or by crook, considering the odds that have been stuck against him.

The Kericho race has been christened a one versus all race with Cheruiyot facing Paul Sang of KANU, who also has the backing of Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC and Raila Odinga’s CORD.
